This is a solid implementation of a file finding and copying utility. The code is well-structured and has good documentation. However, it could benefit from more robust error handling and configurability. Consider adding unit tests, especially for the build_stem_map function and file stem extraction logic. The progress bar implementation provides good user feedback.
