What should I do first?
That's up to you! Kethane isn't located everywhere, though, so scanning is a good place to start.
Where should I look for Kethane to mine?
Kethane appears on all planets and moons. Large deposits are scattered all around the surface, and there's seemingly no logic to their distribution.
What's Kethane good for?
Once it's been mined, Kethane can be converted into other fuels or burned directly in a K-J65 Zero-Bypass Turbine. Since it's available on distant worlds, using Kethane enables long-duration, self-sustaining missions that wouldn't otherwise be possible.
Why is my converter not working?
Fuel routing rules apply to converters. See: Conversion.
Does Kethane work with KSP version [x]?
Kethane will only support the latest release of KSP. If you're not sure which version Kethane is currently compatible with, compare the release dates.
Will an older version of Kethane work with the latest KSP version?
Probably not. Sometimes it works, but backward compatibility is not a priority. When upgrading, old persistence files will usually still work. Exceptions will be noted in the change log (unless persistence file compatibility was broken by the game itself).
