Adjust Scrolling by enabling / disabling inertial / smooth settings #5088

Neat idea |
another very useful feature which should be part of windows : |
I have a MS Arc Mouse and (with the app made for it) I can set this. Touchpads also have this. But that's a hardware-based solution. Would be nice to have software-based, although, I hope those won't conflict... |
I wish there would be a wired mouse with such kind of hardware inertia |
@Jay-o-Way, they are similar but different. product itself may be the same but different features. |
I know. Just thinking about a possible future power toy (like Teak UI was) that could combine the different things for mouse settings. |
I mailed the developer form https://sourceforge.net/projects/mwaccelerator/ as well as quuicklook |
I have the same set :P |
tedious isnt it ? Try https://sourceforge.net/projects/mwaccelerator/ much better |
Tweaked title to be on/off |
I've previously used another utility called ScrollNavigator, which worked well pre-Win10 for defining per-app and highly customised accelerated scrolling, but doesn't work well/at all with Metro UI-based apps. Only just tried MWAccelerator after seeing it mentioned on this thread. I'm impressed to finally find a substitute that works better with Win10, but I still find its behaviour unsatisfactory. My criteria:
If these accelerated scrolling features were included with PowerToys, that's be fantastic |
Maybe it could be under "mouse utilities"? |
I just wish there was a way to entirely DISABLE smooth scrolling in Windows across Windows apps, which currently is not a thing at all. The setting in Edge only affects Edge and not like the Windows settings, or any other metro-style apps, which seemingly have smooth scrolling on no matter what :-( |
Some people can't stand smooth scrolling. I hate smooth scrolling with passion. Please always remember that it should be optional, no matter how awesome you think it looks. |
The mwaccelerator is really good. But some tweaking options are missing. Hoping PowerToys brings a better version of it. it should be able to:
|
+1. I want to add: |
Decades and Versions later, Windows is still stuck in the pre-smartphone age. |
Opposite here. I prefer fluid motions. |
Isn't this an easy feature to be added to the software? Really needed this so that we don't need to rely on third party non trusted publishers. Hope this feature comes quick. Let everyone vote for this feature and increase its priority so the issue will be considered quick |
Looks like most Windows users simply don't care. Some even prefer the look of windows XP. |
That is the main reason PowerToys is an addon and not just a built in app of windows |
Here just another user who hates all the eye-candy in apps and operating systems. Recently, I was forced to switch to Windows 11, and I can't work with all the animated nonsense. I consider myself a power user, and every millisecond wasted on rendering UI elements frustrates me. This should be optional! Even PowerToys itself uses smooth scrolling, and the trend of animations and "smoothness" is becoming more prevalent in UIs. Get rid of it! Sure, it might be nice for people who prefer fancy visuals and take things slow, but I need to work efficiently and get things done. It takes me so much time to tweak Windows for a decent workflow. It's awful. Make it happen, please! |
Long ago I switched to macOS. done |
Hello,
it woudl be nice if you would integrate system wide inertial sceolling to PowerToys until Windows finally support it.
Have a look here :
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mwaccelerator/
It lets you scroll precide by one line or with fast speed, best of both worlds , try it !
