Customizer can do anything that is doable within the chroot environment. That includes adding [your own kernel] (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compile), packages and other customizations.
Remastering is not only using command line via Terminal, but also using graphical interface on Desktop via Xephyr--which lacked in Ubuntu Customization Kit.
One important feature that other remastering tools lacking, is the option to continue from where the users had left earlier without starting all over again--Customizer features this.
Customizer is suitable for users whom wanting to create Ubuntu-based remix for personal use. It is possible to create a distribution, provided branding is properly removed.
It's appealing to users wanting to install applications which are not pre-installed on official ISO image, or to whom just want to experiment in building a remix.
Short answer is, nowhere. Because remastering is such a niche interest, the so-called "help" is often found as outdated Wiki pages or single post on some blogs.
You may try to ask at Ubuntu Forums, Ask Ubuntu, Super User and other sites. Still, your question may be rejected or getting vague answers, which is unsurprising.
Prior to remastering, users are advised read the First guide and Tutorials to get the basic idea. Also, look up known issues and changes between Ubuntu releases.
We had a forum, twice. First on Sourceforge.net (until late-2011), then organized by a contributor on Freeforums.org (early-2014). Not much activities, then had to be closed.
For now, we have only GitHub Issues for bug reports and questions related to Customizer. You can submit your suggestion for discussion place too.
Blaming won't help and remastering isn't without problem. First of all, you should double-check your working steps and environment.
Also, you might want to ensure that you didn't do any of these common mistakes. Be patient and persistent to ensure that you are doing things correctly.
Then when asking help, explain properly what didn't work for you and provide relevant details. Submit your issue by following this guideline and steps.
