I just cut this sentence from the Pharos data standard paper, partly because I don't quite agree with the interpretation, but largely because I think it would be better suited to the Pharos docs stack:
Further, wildlife pathogens may be recovered from hunted wildlife or roadkill; this can pose two spatial location issues — - carcass location may not represent transmission location, and particularly for endangered species, publishing hunter locations can have legal implications.
