What should we update?

I think it needs to be removed from the Hall of Shame.
I'm not in any way affiliated with the company. I've been using Ecobee thermostats for the past few years with Home Assistant via its HomeKit integration, without any Apple devices involved. It's fully local, which is not "less robust than a real connection", but the other way around - we don't need Ecobee to run any servers. They've been working perfectly fine, zero issues.
