Extracting local minima and maxima from fitted splines

Hi there -

thanks a lot for providing this comprehensive tool box and the notebooks. It's all documented very nicely and makes it fairly easy to dive into the world of splines.
While the shape analysis you perform is mostly done in a comparative fashion I was wondering if there is a way to extract certain parameters from those splines. What I am particularly interested in is if one can extract local minima and maxima from the fitted splines.
