Right now video editing work is done ad-hoc without any standardized inout or output structure. So, although Jockey can produce a final edited video this is not always useful or desirable depending on the use case.
Using something like OpenTimeline would allow us to use a standardized method for both input and multiple output formats depending on the user request. This will also allow Jockey to plug in nicely into existing video editors etc.
