Unread message not shown if it is old

How to reproduce: have a chat with an unread message from several days ago. Open the chat.

Expected: chat should display the unread message.

Observed: chat shows that there is no new content. You need to “load more” to see the unread message.

Note: when opening the chat, the default window of content should be “messages from last 48h OR all unread messages, whichever is earlier”, but it doesn’t function correctly.
