Could this be used to edit markdown and save it back as markdown?

I need an editor that can load markdown from the database edit it and save back as markdown.

Can novel do that now ? Anyone using it in a similar fashion?

I understand that tiptap uses json so maybe the workflow would be save new content as both markdown and json, then load json and save both the updated json and the content as markdown ?
