End City (and various other vanilla structure) markers are not placed automatically even after looking at them #261

I assume End City markers are supposed to be placed since most major structures like Fortresses, Bastions, Ocean Monuments, Villages, Woodland Mansions, and so on are auto placed after looking at them but even after looking at all pieces of an end city and walking through it in survival I am unable to see a marker on my map.

This is true for a few other major vanilla structures as well most notably Strongholds and Ancient Cities. I noticed though that these do not have marker textures in the repo (but the End City does) and these are both underground so it's somewhat understandable. I would argue that these structures are important enough to warrant having their own markers.

Some structures are drawn directly as part of the map (without markers) and thus are only visible while zoomed in. Some examples are Witch Huts, Desert Pyramids, Pillager Outposts, Ruined Portals, and maybe a few more I haven't discovered. Weirdly both Shipwrecks and Jungle Temples are not drawn on the map but it feels like they should.

I know I could write a resource pack for all of the above but the End City issue seems like a bug and the other ones feel like they should be a part of the mod.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention I did not see any issues in the log and here are all mods and versions I was using:

  • Minecraft 1.20.1
  • Fabric Loader 0.16.10
  • Antique Atlas [2.10.1+1.20]
  • Fabric API [0.92.3+1.20.1]
  • Surveyor Map Framework [0.6.25+1.20]
