my laptop has been constantly crash (blue screen of death) for few months with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. it may be related to issue #1723. i'm not sure whether portmaster is the main cause for this issue. but it only happens when portmaster is on. there's no minidump file created in the C:\Windows\Minidump directory.

the way it reproduced is mostly (though, not guaranteed) from either:

  • high cpu usage, like compiling project in android studio or using its emulator.
  • or closing my laptop lid (hibernate) while android studio is in background. when i turn it on, it will crash within a minute.

here's the image from Event Viewer app:

addendum:
ever since i updated to the beta channel yesterday, when the crash occurs, i can no longer open the app. restarting windows or task-killing the process doesn't help. but i will leave it for another github issue later.
