Dialog on every startup “yubiswitch is trying to install a new helper tool.”

Since upgrading to macOS Sonoma, an “Install helper” dialog appears on every startup, with the message yubiswitch is trying to install a new helper tool.

If I cancel, an error appears Failed to bless helper. Error: (null) and yubiswitch quits.

With other applications I have been able to fix this with sudo chown -R $USER /Applications/yubiswitch.app, but that doesn't seem to work in this case. I still get the "trying to install" dialog every time yubiswitch starts
