Calendar as diagram

Calendar view is a great way to document actionable data, deadlines, events etc. While there already is a "timeline" syntax available, I feel we can do much better than that. For example, what if we could generate a calendar view with following simply syntax:

calendar 
  dateFormat  MM-YYYY
  default-view year 
  default-focus 2013 
  
  May-2013: start project
  July-2013: get review
  Aug-2013: finish project
