Description of issue

I'm trying to debug the permissions error when installing araxis-merge. However, I cannot get Homebrew to open irb when the exception happens. I tried brew debugger -- install --debug araxis-merge, but the process just exists upon error.

What am I missing?

The installation issue itself is not relevant here, I have a non-standard multi-user setup.

I'm interested in why I don't get interactive shell. If I edit the source code by adding binding.irb in the exception handler, the interactive shell does start at that point.
