The Foreword states:

This release is not fully backward compatible with version 2.0 even though changes were kept to a minimum.

It would be really helpful to have a table of (at least) the breaking changes.

Does this refer to SWE Common or SensorML, or both?

I've not gone through SensorML yet, only SWE Common.

OK, yes, we'll better describe the changes (I think the big breaking change is that we dropped the XML encoding completely in favor of JSON). We decided that we could always maintain the XML in a separate standard/part if anybody is interested.

Discussed during 10/17 telecon.
Will point to the place in the document where the (breaking) changes are described.
