We should begin recording and reporting electicity usage to host the service as a business expense.
Describe the solution you'd like
Ongoing measurement of power usage at a granular level would be nice. Some kind of continuous metering of electicity to the hosting hardware could make sense.
To begin with an approximation may be acceptable, although we should review the measurements used for it on a somewhat regular basis.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Approximate, manual power consumption with the hardware on a single sample size appears to be in the order of 65W-70W. No doubt that will increase during intensive operations such as bulk recrawling/indexing and high traffic.
