CL term
nephron tubule epithelial cell (CL:1000494)
Suggested revision of textual definition
The definition of "nephron tubule epithelial cell" states: "This needs to be further defined as a juxtamedullary nephron. Will request the juxtamedullary nephron tubule class from UBERON."
As far as I can tell, there is no open issue to address this. Not sure if the term's name or definition will change, or both.
Furthermore, it may be redundant with its parent, "kidney tubule cell" (CL:1000507). All of the children of kidney tubule cell are epithelial cells. If there are other types in the kidney tubule, maybe that should be explicitly stated in the definition of kidney tubule cells?
This might be a good resource: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9233501/#S11
At least according to this paper, it does not seem like there are non-epithelial tubule cells. It seems they consider non-epithelial cells that are around the tubule (e.g., fibroblasts) as part of the interstitium.
