Getting an error: Docker socket is not readable by the www-data user. Cannot continue.

I'm trying to run the AIO in docker in Linux for the first time.

I'm kinda lost on this one. I've checked the permissions of the file and the www-data user- I set the user to own the file AND set its permissions to 777, but I'm still seeing this error. The ONLY log statements I ever see are:

Trying to fix docker.sock permissions internally...

Adding internal www-data to group root

Docker socket is not readable by the www-data user. Cannot continue.

I've done everything I can think to do, I'm not sure how to fix this...

/var/run/docker doesn't seem to be valid in my eyes
