Emogrifier now has an official repository on GitHub and also provides an official Composer package:

https://github.com/jjriv/emogrifier
https://packagist.org/packages/pelago/emogrifier

I propose using Emogrifier as a GIT submodule or as a composer package to always have the latest version.

Yeah Composer support sounds great.  The only thing is that I'm not sure if the CakePHP plugin is fully compatible with the latest version of Emogrifier.  Might need a bit of testing.

The current Emogrifier version is fully compatible with the version from a few years back with two important changes:

  • The class now uses namespaces.
  • Only UTF-8 is supported.

So - I've updated the plugin to be much more flexible in terms of specifying the underlaying Emogrifier.php along with some documentation changes

I don't have any experience with Composer to know the best approach for that - got any clues?
