Idea:

  • keep the metallb configmap as it is currently reconciled by metal-ccm
  • do not speak BGP
  • but just reconcile loopback addresses: add / remove ServiceType: LoadBalancer ip addresses to the nodes (but respect externalTrafficPolicy)
  • addresses of the loopback interface get automatically advertised by the FRR
