@todrobbins: Thanks for reaching out! I've been trying to figure out the best way to incorporate volunteer contributions into the project. I think the main two areas where I could use ideas or help are:
Needs assessment: What kind of educational materials do local preservationists need? What topics are most important to focus on?
Resource development: Can you help create a lesson on a topic that you know well? Or adapt an existing open educational resource for a preservationist audience?
I got a bit overwhelmed by some other projects over the winter so I'm still playing a bit of catch-up. I'll add the draft contributor guidelines I started to the repo and see if that can help give a bit more structure to these questions.
I'll mull over these today, but I am definitely on board to help define needs and resources as well as develop lessons.
One thought off hand would be to assemble a matrix of the various national and local laws that govern preservation through the country. Perhaps that has already been done by other organizations and I'd be happy to make a formatted page that represents that data. I think it would be a good springboard into further local education and preservation efforts.
How can I help?
