new alb create each time a new service is using external-dns

Every time I add the external-dns.alpha.kubernetes.io/hostname annotation in a new service a new alb is created on AWS which of course is expensive and seems unneeded. I would like to reuse the same alb for all routes. Am I doing something wrong or missing something to avoid this?
