Hello,
Yes, the coil mesh has to be open and/or have at least one edge.
What's your use-case? A perfect sphere prevents access to the interior, rendering it unusable.
You can try and define your own spherical mesh which has two open ends, like a distorted cylinder. I.e. like a planet with a hole at both poles.
I'm not sure if the planar projection will succeed, but give it a try?
I'm travelling for the next while, so I can not help much.

Hello! I was wondering if it's possible to define coils on a spherical surface, by setting
coil_mesh_file
to one of the spheres defined in GeometryData, for example. When I've tried to do this, the mesh parameterization has failed because it is not able to find boundaries for the mesh. Thank you!Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
