You can enable copy and paste between the HOST OS (OS X or Windows) and your Ubuntu Virtual Machine by following the steps:

  1. Run you Virtual Machine
  2. Go up to the Menu Bar and select Devices
  3. Enable Shared Clipboard
  4. Enable Drag and Drop

I use the bidirectional setting - but you can choose the setting you would like to use most.
