Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the existing open and closed issues

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe

Possibility to export network diagram, to be able to import it to Visio or any other program

Describe the solution you'd like

In the setup

Internet> firewall > main switch > rest devices: The first three devices take up a lot of space, making the network overview very small and difficult to read. Yes, I can zoom in, but if I try to print it, it's not very usable.

Describe alternatives you've considered

If export is not possible a possibility to change the way the current network map is presented.

Anything else?

Nothing more :)

Am I willing to test this? 🧪

  • I will do my best to test this feature on the netlertx-dev image when requested within 48h and report bugs to help deliver a great user experience for everyone and not to break existing installations.

Can I help implement this? 👩‍💻👨‍💻

  • Yes
  • No

Hi @dtech77pl ,

Thanks for the suggestion.

The visualization plugin I'm using doesn't allow for exports as far as I know. If you have suggestions on alternative JavaScript FOSS diagram libraries, that would support exporting into different data formats, please let me know. I did some research into some of them previously, but couldn't find anything suitable.

I'm also not a JS canvas expert, which is generated by the current library. If you know how to extend the current functio0nality further, feel free to submit a PR, that would be awesome.

You can export the devices.csv file and it contains all network information, so if a tool can ingest the data and visualize it, that could be an alternative.

I'll keep this open for a few days if someone has an idea, if there won't be sufficient community support, I will have to mark this as low priority for now and close it. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks,
j
