Make icons in the top-right and version number collapsible

A user reported that the icons in the top-right and version number below it can be visually distractive:

On the one hand I want to make sure that the functionality behind the icons is easy to discover and use. On the other hand I fully agree with the user's report.

The report also came with a great suggestion: "A single arrow button on the top right, press it, and the menu pops open, press it again and it disappears."

I think this will work fine. For now the default will be non-collapsed, but VMPC2000XL should remember the user's preference and respect it when shut down and started again.
