... because Watched is a more special interest and I would propose to move these up - if the user defined some there

I understand your situation and your reason, but I'm not sure if this is what most (regular) developers need.

How about adding a third section "Favorites" where the developer can add their and other (watched) adapters (by simply clicking on a ❤️)? If any favorites are added, that section would be shown first.
