Status message changes not propagated

Consider the following use case : 2 smartphones running Whisper 1.6 (current version from the Play store) and IBR-DTN 1.0.1.
Suppose that a conversation between the two smartphones (A and B) is in progress, chat messages can be exchanged. During this conversation A goes back to the main Whisper window (i.e., not the view with the messages) and changes its status message, then goes back to the conversation view with B and sends her a chat message. In this case, this chat message is received by B, but the change in the status message of A is not reflected at B's side. From what I recall, not sending any chat message after the change gives the same result.
