You may be able to use the work North Road has done with their QGIS SLYR plugin to read the .lyr files.

Hey @donnyv,

thanks for thie hint. As the geostyler ecosystem is based on its own exchange format geostyler-style it's not easy to port one-to-one translations.

But there is already a parser that converts geostyler-style to .lyrx files. The geostlyer-lyrx-parser.

As the geostlyer-lyrx-parser that takes care of all Arc GIS related stuff I'll move this issue.

Note: The CLI supports the output of '.lyrx' files since version 4.1.0

Hi @donnyv,

It would probably be possible as their are quite similar, but I currently don't have plan to add legacy .lyr file support.
Ideally, I would add better tests on the .lyrx files before to add these kind of new features.
