Hi,

when displaying a user report (e.g. users that have "bernd" somewhere in their name) the sorting of the results seems to be kind of random.

There is a sort button for the last name, but since there are no other buttons available, wouldn't it be more convenient to
a) sort by the lastname by default or
b) add more of those sweet sort criteria?

Best regards

Hi @dennmuel

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you about this. I agree it would be good to sort by a field by default. However to do this I need to apply some updates to the custom report search form so that it processes a sort field - an update which I think will have to wait until the next release of the GRF plugin.

In the meantime adding some more "sweet sort criteria" should just be a case of adding new fields in the config files at the local archive level as described at: https://wiki.eprints.org/w/Generic_Reporting_Framework#Grouping_and_Sorting_.28v3.0.2B_only.29

In this case you'd want to add some to new sort criteria at

"byname" => "name",

Hi @wfyson,

thanks for your answer. I adjusted the issue title so it can remain open until you've had the chance to make the changes necessary.
(Sure we can add criteria per archive however we like. Just thought maybe one or two more beeing available by default would make for a littler nicer UX.)
