Is it possible to add a AC Temperature sensor that is separate from climate "current_temperature" reading #234

Hello @DarkDimius I understand the situation as I have made the same choice in my children's rooms. I'm afraid there is no known way to retrieve the internal sensor temperature when the unit is set in external sensor mode. So either you add another sensor next to the unit or you can also add a ds18b20 wired to the esp with the MitsubishiCN105 firmware. I used to have door opening sensors installed on the bedroom doors and activated the temperature sensors accordingly, either averaging the temperature in each room or falling back on the internal sensor of the air conditioner when all the doors were closed. |

I have multiple rooms that are heated with a single mini split head leading to pretty sophisticated gradient of temperature that also depends on the sun dirrection, wind, etc. I've installed a few temperature sensors and have been using them in combination with AC temperature reading to automate via Home Assistant. If not using the remote temperature sensor the template below works as a way to extract temperature of air currently going through the mini split head unit.
It seems that after enabling remote sensor the 'current temperature' now reports remote temperature.
Is there an existing way to add a separate sensor that keeps reporting temperature as seen by mini split head? If not, would a contribution adding that be welcome?
Thank you
