Can't control Assets tab in Form Customization

I'd like to remove the Assets tab for specific page templates, at least while it's necessary to use snippets to handle assets attached to the resource.

More accurately, for my current project I only want the Assets tab to appear for one specific template, a gallery template in this case.

I also wonder if it's possible to register the Assets tab as a region. It's currently not listed under Regions on the Form Customization page. Is this a modx limitation?

It'd also be nice to be able to rename the Assets tab. Something like "Photos" would suit better in my specific case. [EDIT:] Just discovered I can rename the tab in Lexicon Management, which is nice, but global.

A relatively easy workaround is to modify the assman plugin to check for the template before drawing the tab.

Renaming will be possible when the plugin is properly localized for i18n (translations/lexicons)

Unfortunately this issue is keeping me from using this otherwise great Extra.
