Currently in the user account settings, there is an option to choose the default catalog list view (ie. filter) between beta, approved, or all. However it is fairly common when I am training in a specific language, that I wish that my default filters were much more specific. (For example, kata that I have no completed, in X language, in 7-5kyu range).
My idea, is that a button be added to the kata search page "Save current filters as default". Pressing the button would save the current search filters (ie. the URL) and these parameters would then be used as default whenever a user navigates to the kata search page from elsewhere in the site. This functionality would therefore replace the "Default catalog list view" option in the user account settings.
Bonus: Ideally, the "Your next challenge" dialogue box on the dashboard would also be affected by the default search filters, allowing users a much more fine-grained control over the kata suggestions.
