Thanks for your interest in combining macOS-use with MCP clients! I assume you’d like to use tools like Claude Desktop or Cursor to send commands (e.g., "open calculator") to macOS-use, which would then perform those tasks on your Mac. Is that correct, or do you have a different use case in mind? Any additional details would help me tailor the solution!

tbh Im not that familiar with MCP and how they work. would love to hear about that!

Also What might you want from macOS-use via MCP? an explanation plus specific use case exmaple would be great!

Hi @eDeveloperOZ
MCP is a standardized method for adding tools to agents that can understand the MCP protocol. Without it it's unclear how to add tools (browsing, current time, calendar) to Cursor, or other agents. This is a uv based template. Then you submit the repo to some directory like this one so that people can find and install it.

Use case example:

Cursor: "Generate an llms.txt file for the Polars documentation in Repoprompt using macos-use."

The Cursor Agent will outline a plan that involves retrieving the documentation, launching the Repoprompt desktop app, and more. Without the macOS-use MCP server, it wouldn't be able to include desktop actions in the plan.
