Would be great if the app would update the gallery automatically when it detects new images in the folder.

It should automatically detect new images and create thumbs the first time they are navigated to. Are you having to execute the jobs to get new images to display? This works fine for me. Maybe describe your setup somewhat if not working.

I have to manually refresh the browser tab. Is there a way to make it refresh on its own?

Seems more like a browser issue than something in Pigallery2. On mine when I browse to a page with a new image I initially get a placeholder while the thumb is being generated then the thumb loads in the browser without any further interaction from me. Maybe try a different browser to see if you get the same experience?

Yes the images will load but after I refresh the gallery. What I'm wondering is can I have the gallery open and when a new image is added to the folder, it refreshes automatically so I can view the images without interacting with the browser.

I tried chrome and safari. Both need to be manually refreshed to see new images. Is there a setting I need to enable for this?

Oh I see. You want the page to refresh as you add images right? I don’t think that exists today. You’d have to have the browser auto refresh the page every so often or have it maintain some form of active connection to the server.

I may just create a watchdog in python and repackage it. I'll see what I can do.
