I just noticed that the content of the mp4 files generated by appstore_tools download ... is actually not a real mp4 but rather a m3u8 file. If you re-upload to apple what was downloaded, you get a nice error in appstore connect

Ok, will need to investigate to find the correct way to download preview files, it seems. Thanks for all the preview testing :)
