Describe the bug
DupeGuru cannot check if files are duplicates if the files have a name starting with a period. It is worth noting that files with an additional period in the middle of the file name (not including the file type extension) work just fine.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Have two identical files which have filenames starting with a period. They can be in the same folder, or two different folders, as long as both files are within the scope of the search this occurs.
  2. Scan for duplicates.

Expected behavior
The identical files are recognized and made candidates for removal or deletion.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows 11
  • Version 4.3.1

Have you made sure that you don't have an exclusion filter that is active?
