Closing this issue, as #19 actually describes the problem better. Since there is no text shadow set on the font programatically, you're most likely experiencing the same thing as the user in #19 which is a result of ClearType.

If you read over #19 and it doesn't solve this issue for you, you can feel free to re-open it with more description.
