Feature Requests as GitHub Discussions

Today, we are going to start converting feature request issues to discussions in order to better moderate and organize our GitHub issues. From now on, any feature request should be opened through discussions rather than issues, and will be converted to an issue when the team starts work on it. This will help our team convey which feature requests are in active development, rather than having open feature requests become stale as GitHub issues.

The flow of creating a new feature request will now look something like this:

1. Open a new discussion
2. Change the discussion topic to 'Feature Requests'
3. Provide context and documentation on why the feature is wanted and what problem it solves
