Release Artifacts for intel based macs

Problem

Version 12.2.8 or for that matter any version is not supported on intel based mac os x64 architecture, can we have release artefacts include same as well?

Solution

Include intel bases x64 binary in release artefacts.

We use Github Actions to release for macos https://github.com/PostgREST/postgrest/blob/main/.github/workflows/build.yaml#L61-L82

It depends on the macos image used for GHA, so there is certainly something actionable for us. We can build with macos-14 for aarch64, like we do right now - and use, IIRC, macos-13 (or macos-12?) to build for x86_64.

Intel based macos binaries are now available in the latest development release (https://github.com/PostgREST/postgrest/releases/tag/devel) and will be available in the next major as well.

@LRagji Looks like brew already supports Intel https://formulae.brew.sh/formula/postgrest, won't this solve your issue?

@steve-chavez we are trying to run this npm package as mentioned on documentation which requires artifacts for specific os to be included in release binaries...

I haven't used that package, but if you require the path of the binary you should install with brew then find it with: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/75020303/how-to-find-the-executables-installed-by-a-package
