To protect the integrity and durability of the standard created, I would recommend going through the process of registration of the standard and as a standards body. As a former ISO-certified examiner, I can say that there is no better way to prevent someone (i.e. Apple or Google) from subverting a standard than to have it be a registered standard in ISO or ANSI and become the governing board of record for that standard.
Save this for later in the process.
