Good news, my depth paper got accepted into SSIAI. In the paper, I link to our PV homepage (petavision.github.io), and state that an Amazon AMI can be found at that link, which I am in the process of making. I believe the homepage should have a "publications" link where we can link publications and other relevant links there. Do we have anything like this currently located elsewhere?

In looking through the website, I found this hidden webpage:
http://petavision.sourceforge.net/media.html
First, we should probably move that page to github. Second, if we are to use this page, we should link it directly to the homepage as opposed to a small link in Kenyon Lab link.

There is a page at https://petavision.github.io/media.html, but it
could stand to be updated, and publications should probably be its own
page.

In looking more closely, it looks like there is an equivalent media link on the homepage that links to github (as Pete mentioned), whereas the link in "PetaVision lab" that links to media links to the sourceforge version. I think the media page should be overhauled; namely:

  • We should rename media to something that better describes what is in the page.
  • We should not split up presentations and publications, but rather present them together via chronological order

Additionally, we should look into removing the sourceforge pages to avoid confusion, as I am suggesting changes that will change the homepage.

I just updated the github petavision.html page, which had a link to the
media page on sourceforge.net instead of github.io. I believe that that
was the last link to sourceforge on the petavision.github.io pages.

However, pv-core still has the docs/tutorial directory, which contains
some markdown pages pointing to sourceforge. I think we should remove
that directory, and perhaps others in pv-core/docs. We still need to
keep docs/doxygen, but is there anything in the other docs directories
that (1) we need to keep and (2) isn't already on the
petavision.github.io repository?

It seems to me that keeping publications separate from presentations
makes sense. Perhaps we should put the publications ahead of the
presentations?

The petavision.sourceforge.net homepage announces our move to github,
and says, "For the time being the old website is still available here"
with a link. At this point "the time being" has probably expired and we
can delete everything but a link to petavision.github.io.

Regarding the docs/tutorials folder, I had (somewhat) recently sent out an email to pv_office outlining my plans to revamp the demos & tutorials file structure. You can leave it as it is and I will be addressing it soon. In the mean time, I'll open it as a git issue.

This is tangential to the original issue, but since I mentioned above that the sourceforge page had a link to the old website "for the time being", I thought I'd mention that I have removed that link and the old pages. The sourceforge index.html page only links to github pages now. I also removed the sourceforge media.html file, etc. Closer to being on topic, should there be a sourceforge media.html page that only links to the github media.html page?
