Hi @rr-epona, Thanks for reporting this. I'm sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues running the sample. It looks like the shortcuts used in the sample (Ctrl+Alt+1, Ctrl+Alt+2, and Ctrl+Alt+3) are established shortcuts in Word, but not in Excel (see Keyboard shortcuts in Word and Keyboard shortcuts in Excel). I've opened #896 to address this. If you'd like to test the sample with the updated shortcuts before we make the change, we'll be using Ctrl+Alt+Up arrow key (show task pane), Ctrl+Alt+Down arrow key (hide task pane), and Ctrl+Alt+Q (add text to document). Please note that support for keyboard shortcuts in Word on the web is currently being rolled out. Even with the shortcut updates we're making, they may still not work when triggered from the add-in. I'll update the documentation and sample to clarify this. Please check the documentation periodically to determine when the shortcuts are fully supported in Word on the web. I'll go ahead and close this discussion thread. Feel free to continue the conversation in the opened issue. |

Hey all,
Custom keyboard shortcuts for Word Add-ins, have been supported for a few months now, but it is giving me trouble.
From office-keyboard-shortcuts, the sample code works for Excel, sideloaded in desktop and web, either run from GitHub or localhost.
When attempting the same cases with Word, the add-in loads successfully, but none of the shortcuts trigger an action in the add-in.
The "manifest.xml" should work directly when sideloaded. Does this work for anybody else in Word?
Mainly curious about making this work for Word in web.
