Update all dependencies

Motivation: describe the problem to be solved
Please, update all dependencies because they are not compatible with many popular packages, e.g. numpy, pandas, jinja2.

Hey @djstrong ,

we need to take a look at this indeed, though it often turns into quite a puzzle figuring out which versions of the different dependencies are compatible. I can have a quick test later this week. If it all works out we can push a new version quickly. If we run into issues I won't have time to fix those immediately, might take a week or two for some time in the schedule.
