Summary of feedback as we currently understand it:
A more guided & user-friendly dataset selection process that is accessible for non-scientists
This guided dataset selection is especially important at the beginning of the user flow
A cleaner look & feel that is more in line with the desired look & feel of earth.gov, similar to mobile climate mapper
Having more options be ever-present on the map is preferred, so it’s not as jarring of an experience to go from map to dataset selection
We’d love to have some sort of animation tool, similar to Worldview
Comparing datasets is important, comparing specific variables of datasets is a nice to have
a. Open question: is there a strong preference for the slider compare of datasets, as opposed to the overlay compare with E&A?
Time-series analysis is important, although the existing process for generating charts is confusing
The tool should use USWDS styling and components, and be easily used in a NextJS framework (more-so driven from recent VEDA refactor, but relevant here)

We are currently hoping to do some user research through a NOAA user testing program before going too far into design on this front. We have plenty of runway in the overall earth.gov redesign to work on in the meantime.
