Word suggestions for glide typing ignore apostrophes and sometimes are odd.

I downloaded the library for glide typing and added this to HeliBoard.

It works quite well, except for three things:

• words with apostrophes will be ignored (while they work with standard gboard). e.g. "hat's", "wirds's" etc. I added them to the regular dictionary
• sometimes words will be suggested without capital letter although they only exist with capital letter. They can't be in the dictionary this way.
• sometimes suggestions are a bit odd and seem that they are taken from English language although I disabled English language in the settings.

Any idea how we can figure out if this is just a bad setting somewhere or a general bug?

Can't reproduce. "don't" works out of the box, and your examples work after typing them manually twice.

sometimes words will be suggested without capital letter although they only exist with capital letter. They can't be in the dictionary this way.

You can enable debug mode (about -> tap version a few times -> advanced -> debug settings -> debug mode).
Then when long-pressing a suggestion (in suggestion strip) twice, you will get a toast telling you from which dictionary the suggestion is coming.
Without this information I can't do much.

See above, this ways you can check whether this is an issue of the dictionary you use.

Oh, this is great. The suggestions are coming from the dictionaries main:de, user:de and history:de.

Maybe I changed this recently by mistake because it seems I have to re-enter some words I already used. But it seems it is working better now. I'll keep you updated.

Go to the language settings, the use the + button next to Dictionary to add a dictionary file. If it's a main dictionary it will replace the internal one.
If you use a built-in dictionary, you can find the wordlist in https://codeberg.org/Helium314/aosp-dictionaries/src/branch/main/wordlists, just download and extract the main_<language_code>.combined.gz
