Overview

See engineering issue #310 for tracking (has a screenshot of engineered prototype, feel free to diverge, let's jam on it)

As an applicant, I would like to be able to easily add additional responses to questions such as "list your dependents". I would like to be able to easily add, modify and delete these additional responses. When the final pdf is generated, I need to be able to confirm that everything was entered/captured correctly.

Context

Optional: Any reference material or thoughts we may need for later reference, or assumptions of prior or future work that's out of scope for this story.

  • [ ]

Acceptance Criteria

Required outcomes of the story

  • User can add, modify, and delete additional responses
  • User can confirm that everything was entered correctly in the generated PDF

Research Questions

Optional: Any initial questions for research

Tasks

Research, design, and engineering work needed to complete the story.

Hi @ethangardner , here are the prototype links for the repeater concepts:

Findings and recommendations based on user research (see full summary of findings)

  • Some participants said building the repeater component was “too technical" and “hard to use.” It was unclear from the name and editing flow how to create a set of questions that can be asked multiple times.
  • Recommendations: Name the component ‘repeating question set’; include a component description; and use “question” rather than “field” consistently in the labels
  • All participants preferred the card layout over the list when entering multiple responses as a form filler. They found this view allowed them to easily add and review entries.
  • Recommendation: Build the card layout for a more straightforward form filler experience on all devices.
  • Most participants understood what happens to additional responses with the help of the page notice, but had some usability concerns and worried about breaking up responses.
  • Recommendation: Remove the page notice from the question and communicate this message elsewhere (e.g in the repeater description, and in the generated PDF)
