When compiling HDF5 1.14.0-1.14.4, the public HDF5 headers redefine ssize_t. That causes issues on Windows WSL with conda-forge compilers:

A work-around is just to use -DImpactX_openpmd_internal=OFF (doc) and just rely on the pre-compiled openPMD-api package that we install with the conda developer environment.

I opened an upstream bug report with HDF5 as well, so this can be addressed and fixed: HDFGroup/hdf5#5245
