Are you aligning the QR inside the suggested guide box ?
Try closer / further away - because the resolution of the captured image is higher the 'ideal distance' may be different for your lighting/contrast etc.
In our testing we always found jade+ to be better ...

This could be the problem, the guide box is very small which means that you have to move the device too far away, making the image look very small. I clarify that it is a 24-word seedQR.
